👀 World Sight Day 👀

👀 Today is WORLD SIGHT DAY 👀

The goal is to remind the world and to emphasise the necessity of taking care of our own eye health.

The theme for this year is “Love Your Eyes”.

The theme emphasises the importance of each eye and, as a result, helps to raise awareness about eye care and treatment.

❤️ Love Your Eyes by going for an eye checkup regularly ❤️

Toddlers and vitamins

Children need the same nutrients as adults — but usually require smaller amounts.

As children grow, it’s vital for them to get adequate amounts of nutrients that help build strong bones, such as calcium and vitamin D.

Moreover, iron, zinc, iodine, choline, and vitamins A, B6 (folate), B12, and D are crucial for brain development in early life.

Thus, although children may need smaller amounts of vitamins and minerals compared to adults, they still need to get enough of these nutrients for proper growth and development.

Dentist Day

Today we celebrate Dentist Day! 🦷

It’s about more than just teeth:

Teaching children about good oral hygiene is vital to keeping them healthy.

It reminds us to floss too, and we can teach our children to floss, thereby instilling a good habit early in life.

Make brushing and flossing a regular part of daily activities with your children. After all, children learn best when they have an adult to show them the right way. 😃

Vitamin D

Interesting facts about Vitamin D: Children need Vitamin D for bone growth and development. So do babies developing in the womb. Vitamin D also helps us absorb calcium. Make sure you and your little one get some rays of sunshine today ☀️

Mom’s Emergency Car Kit

🚨 Mom’s Emergency Car Kit 🚨

A rescue bag that stays in the car will make your life much easier. You can tailor this bag to your specific needs, but these are a few items we think you should add to your “mom’s emergency car kit”!

👕Clothes
You never know when there will be an accident, and it doesn’t hurt to be prepared. Throw in some extra diapers, underwear and clean clothes for your little ones in the event of an emergency.

🧼Cleaning
Kids make messes and get messy, it’s not a big secret! Kids play in dirt, get sweaty, often wear more food than they eat, drop their sippy cups and throw stuff, so be prepared for it! Make sure your mom emergency car kit includes baby wipes, tissues and hand sanitizer to clean up on the go!

🩹Medical
Scratches and scrapes always seem to happen, so make sure you have bandaids (and in a pinch, you can use hand sanitizer as a disinfectant). It’s also a good idea to include essential medicines such as children’s pain medication and anti-itch cream.

🌞Sun Protection
Living in South Africa, sun protection is a must. Make sure your mom emergency car kit includes sunscreen, sunglasses and hats for everyone to keep them protected and safe!

🥪Snacks
Keeping some sort of non-perishable snacks on hand can be helpful to hold over hungry bellies on long car rides or just between meals. Though do try to keep something in your emergency kit that will not melt in the heat if you leave this bag in the car. Healthy snacks are very important.

We hope this helps! Feel free to share with all your mom friends 🚗😃
